When this social media scheduling tool approached us, they were facing significant obstacles despite substantial prior investments:

  • Saturated market competition: Operating in a highly competitive space with 38+ direct competitors plus dozens of affiliate sites
  • Unfocused link building: Over $200K invested in 500+ links without strategic direction (average $400/link in competitive B2B SaaS)
  • Lack of technical & strategic expertise: Missing strategic SEO capabilities despite having a dedicated Head of Content, agency partnerships, and writers
  • Content-business misalignment: No clear connection between content creation efforts and revenue generation

Strategic Referral Traffic & LLM Optimization

Scraping pages from Quora and targeting the questions that drive traffic are some of the best resources for qualified referral traffic and for feeding LLM search results (ChatGPT, Perplexity), since those pages get traffic and therefore periodically get re-crawled by search engines on related queries.

Product-related questions are highlighted

We used a similar process for list articles and directory pages that rank for product-related queries.

The same goes for Reddit

It's just much harder to gamify the process on Reddit, but it's doable. You can buy Reddit accounts, subreddits as well, use different devices and proxies, will share more later via guides.

1. Links status tracking for identifying lost links

Over the time period, some of the pages were deleted, got updated, or link builders swapped links. To address that problem, we built a custom tool to crawl and check link status. With that we could recover over 100 links, worth $40,000 in value.

2. Link analysis & reporting tools

This showed the linked page along with the number of anchors used, the referring page's performance (including estimated traffic and keyword data)
