Chamaileon.io is a collaborative responsive email template builder serving agencies and businesses with advanced email design capabilities.
Background Story
While doing my BA studies in Budapest, I had the chance to work directly with the CEO & co-founder of EDMdesigner and Chamaileon.io, collaborative, responsive email template builders. At the time, they were preparing to launch chamaileon.io, a brand new product.
This was my introduction to digital marketing. With extremely limited budgets for user acquisition, SEO appeared to be our best potential for acquiring users.
Before I joined, the team had consistently produced high-quality content for EDMdesigner for 2–3 years, but without much SEO know-how. The results showed: only 100–200 monthly visitors (excluding branded keywords).
Initially, I followed their playbooks, promoting content heavily. Sometimes we’d see a spike in traffic… and then it would vanish.
And with another content promotion, I would see another wave of spike, and then it'd disappear
It was frustrating that we kept producing and promoting, but the results weren’t sticking.
One day, I asked the CEO: “How come some pages keep bringing traffic, but most just disappear?”
His response: “I hate SEO, you never know when it works and how”
The Turning Point
That didn’t sit right with me. I was convinced there had to be an answer.
If I could figure it out, I could help not only our company but also many others at the same stage and maybe even create my path to self-employment and a more flexible life.
So I went all-in. Even with only 8 hours/week available because of my studies, I worked nights and weekends to make myself irreplaceable and piece together the bigger picture.
I also had to write a dissertation, so I chose SEO as my topic: “How Can a Business Blog Create Competitive Advantage for B2B Businesses”.
This gave me a strong foundation. Books like Hacking Growth & Lean Analytics were game-changers for me, they shaped how I look at the data, run experiments, think in cohorts, and interconnect SEO multi-channel data to bring clarity and direction not just for SEO & link building but for CRO, Ads, ABM sales campaigns, and intent-based funnels.
The Breakthrough
I began running experiments and started getting traction. And with that, I could understand foundational principles that remain the same, and it all comes down to RELEVANCY.
Through our work together, I created comprehensive tools & playbooks for:
- Competitor and market opportunity analysis
- Content creation & updates
- Content editorial systems
- Project management tools and processes
- Content strategy development
- Keyword clustering and mapping
- Link building, guest posting, link swaps
